Craniosacral therapy is a gentle hands-on treatment aimed at easing tension in the head and nervous system. Through specific movements, I aid in releasing restrictions within the skull, promoting the smooth, rhythmic flow of cerebrospinal fluid. I've had great efficacy treating post-concussion syndrome, jaw pain, and tension headaches. Patients frequently anticipate their treatments, finding them deeply relaxing and nourishing.

Craniosacral therapy offers patients a gentle hands-on treatment to alleviate tension in the head and nervous system. It’s a form of alternative medicine that focuses on the manipulation and gentle touch of the bones of the skull, spine, and pelvis. The therapy is based on the belief that the cerebrospinal fluid, which surrounds the brain and spinal cord, has a rhythmic pulsating motion, and disruptions or restrictions in this motion can lead to various health issues.

### How does craniosacral therapy work?

The therapist uses very light touch and subtle movements to encourage the body's natural healing processes. They aim to release any restrictions or imbalances in the craniosacral system, which can help to alleviate a range of physical and emotional conditions.

Sessions last anywhere from 30-45 minutes. Craniosacral is often done in conjunction with acupuncture. The therapist will lightly touch different areas of your body such as head, spine, feet, and pelvis. Most patients find it quite relaxing and occasionally will fall asleep during the treatment.

For acute problems, such post-concussion syndrome, four consecutive visits are recommended. For more minor issues patients will often experience relief in the first few treatments.
