Naturopathic Medicine
As a naturopathic doctor, I focus on your whole person. I look deeper into the cause of illness and use modern and traditional methods of treatment to restore your health and prevent future illness.
Naturopathic medicine consists of six core principles.
- Do No Harm. Dr. Angie utilizes herbs, vitamins, and nutrients that are safe and won’t harm the body. She tries to limit the use of medications that may cause side effects.
- The Healing Power of Nature. If you take time to observe nature you will see that nature has the ability to heal and repair. Just imagine a forest regrowing after a wildfire. Our body contains these same healing forces. Dr. Angie’s goal is to support this healing force in your body.
- Identify and Treat the Cause. Often symptoms we experience are just a reflection of a deeper issue in the body. Dr. Angie’s key approach is to help uncover what is causing your symptoms such as toxins, mold, hidden infections or parasites, nutrient deficiencies, or hormone imbalance.
- Doctor as Teacher. Dr. Angie takes the time to educate patients on the cause of the illness to help you understand treatment strategies. Her philosophy is that when patients are educated and informed, they are more proactive about their health and tend to have better outcomes.
- Treat the Whole Person. As a naturopathic doctor, Dr. Angie sees and treats the body as an interconnected whole—mind, body, and spirit. She views the connection between gut health, mental health, and joint pain.
- Disease Prevention. Many of the chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure that our society faces are preventable through proper diet and exercise. As a naturopath, Dr. Angie helps educate patients on the importance of healthy lifestyle habits to prevent disease.
